Here are important dates to mark on your calendars as you make your summer 2010 plans. These are dates of jamboree preparation activities that will require each participant’s attendance.
June 4-6, 2010
Pre-Jamboree Shakedown, Camp Kickapoo
The shakedown is a weekend outing on Jamboree Hill at Camp Kickapoo. During this campout, we setup tents, dining flys and other gear in the same configuration as we will need to be confined within at the National Scout Jamboree. We test our equipment and learn how to operate the cook gear. The Scouts continue working as a functioning Boy Scout Troop readying for the next month’s adventure. They get to know one another and their leaders better. More information on planning of this outing will be covered in your troop meetings.
July 17, 2010
Jamboree Equipment Truck Loading, Camp Kickapoo
The loadout of the truck is a packing of the troop and personal camping gear. A travel-checked luggage bag with clothing and items needed for the tour will be taken by each participant on their flight. The camping and heavy equipment will travel by truck to the Jamboree site. Each participant will need to be at this loadout as well to bring their equipment and help pack the trailer. More information on this event and the gear to pack will be covered in your troop meetings.
Important dates will also appear in the sidebar of the LFCJambo.org website.
