The largest ever National Scout Jamboree is set to begin on July 26 – Aug 4.  This event is the highlight to the 100th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America.

The Last Frontier Council serves the OKC area.  We have 3 Jamboree contingent troops with 120 Boy Scouts and leaders set to embark on July 22.

The leaders will be blogging with a digital diary and pics updated several times a day at LFCJambo.org.

You are welcome to be there to interview Scouts leaving for the event.

The National Scout Jamboree is held near Washington DC at Fort AP Hill in Caroline County, Virginia – near Fredericksburg.

Prior to the event, our scouts will tour these historical attractions.

July 25:  Arlington Natl Cemetery, Lincoln Memorial, Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial, Fords Theatre, Natural History Museum, Museum of American History
July 26: Head off to Jamboree

Scouts will be at the jamboree for 10 days.  Activities at this site include:

A merit badge midway where scouts can work on any of boy scouting’s merit badges.

Fun and fellowship are highlights as scouts enjoy the company of over 30,000 of their fellow scouts.

The highlight of the Jamboree will the Centennial Arena Show.  The event will be called “A Shining Light Across America”

This event will be simulcast across the USA and allow any scout join in and watch the celebration live on Ustream.

The boy scout troops are contingent (short term) troops made up of boys attending the event.  The boys also participate with their permanent home troop.  The Last Frontier Council contingent consists of boys from the following hometowns:
